The 3rd floor bathroom ceiling was leaking water and had mold growing so it had been leaking for some time. The pool lights did not work and the pool equipment was in poor condition. The curtains in the master bedroom actually fell on the floor. There were of very poor quality. The house overall is older and needs some investment to update the overall house as it is showing age in all areas. The ice machine in the bar area did not work as it always froze up. The garage smelled very bad as it smelled very musty to the point you did not want to go in the garage. Overall this house at one time was great but it is obvious that the owners have not maintained the property properly and made the investment to keep it in good condition. This house was not worth the amount we paid for the week. We have stayed in other houses at Kiawah for the same amount and the houses were so much nicer and in better condition. The house was very spacious and was a good fit for our group. The rental company told there wouldn’t be beach towels, but there were. It’s an inconvenient thing to pack. The house also had some basic spices for cooking and sufficient cookware and dishes. We rented bikes which were fantastic for getting to the beach and around the island. The location was conveniently located about a half mile from the beach. But the main grocery store near the entrance to the island was 20 minutes away.
